Sleepless nights??🌙
Let's face it.
The world is a lot.
Daily news updates, climate change, covid-19 and all that came with it, social injustice, stress, bills, life.Â
A lot of us are sleeping less and our family, friends, co-workers, and strangers are getting the repercussions from it.
Sleep Deprivation symptoms include:
- Slowed thinking.
- Reduced attention span.
- Worsened memory.
- Poor or risky decision-making.
- Lack of energy.
- Mood changes including feelings of stress, anxiety, or irritability.
Let's fix it.
Now, I want you to ask yourself this, what is keeping me up at night?
Go ahead, get a pen and paper, write down all of your stressors, you can also do this on your smartphone. Then in another column, write a plan or solution to fix it. Keep this list with you and once you fix a stressor, cross it out. Trust this will take time, but once you see the stressors visually and the solutions visually, you can fix it more efficiently. You now have a plan to follow and execute.
Now, I want to ask you about your sleeping environment.
- Are you prepping for sleep, by taking a nice warm bath or shower with your favorite products before bed?
- Is your last meal, 3-4 hours before bedtime?
- Is the environment cooling, quiet and comfortable?
- Is your sleep schedule consistent?
All of these can play a role in sleeping soundly. Especially eating before bed. This is a no-no and, in addition to restlessness; digestion problems and weight gain can also occur. It is recommended to eat 3-4 hours before bedtime.Â
